This animal was from the area of the five bridges in what is now the wildlife refuge Kaufield discribed in "Snakes and Snake Hunting" as a "poor lot". The snakes there are still a poor lot today suffering from the same skin lesions and eye sores that Kaufield discribed. I think it's caused by the rusty rebar that is within the old bridge structures that the snakes over-winter in. This snake does not show the skin problems in the picture because I shot at angles to hide them.

awsome pic coach thanks for sharing it i didnt know any of the Ga.(savanah Ga. right?) animals were so white! as most ive seen tend to be more cream,tan to orange thats a fine looking king sad about the lession probs associeated w/that area though ;( ahwell only the strongest survive i guess take care and post more pics of easterns like that one ,,,,,,,,,,thomas
