darkserpent213 Feb 19, 2005 01:28 AM

Did you guys see this video of Austin Stevens clowning around a cobra in the desert and he gets bit. This guy is still the worst "Snakemaster" I have ever watched.

I have to admit, I was hoping it would be much worse. That idiot could use some hospital time.

I have been waiting for this particular idiot to get a bite. Not only does he tourcher these poor animals, he makes everything over dramatic and takes hugley needless risks for the sake of his show.
Thanks for posting the clip, it was by far the most entertaining segment of any of his shows LOL

I for one enjoy the show, just because it is nearly exclusivly snakes. I'm not sticking up for Stevens, but i think much of the drama on these types of shows is staged. Snake people like us would be more than happy to just see the herps in their own settings. The fact is we are a minority group, which means that in order to get ratings there has to be a danger factor. There is exaggeration, antagonizing, a certain less than safe handling methods. The fact is, that is how the show is going to survive. Would we all just want another animal precinct show to watch? Stevens, Irwin, And Corwin are the few shows which highlight herps. Its not often that we get to see some of our favorite animals in their natural envioroments. I myself will deal with the retards and their antics, thats the trade off for a show geared towards herps.Us herpers want to see the herps, the rest of the people want to see someone Irwin get moshed by a croc, or Stevens dragged under by a "giant anaconda". Remember these animals are released no worse for wear, a little stressed, very pissed off. Who knows, maybe the next human they encounter they will hide a little better. I would hope that some will realize the beauty of these animals and work towards preservation of habitat. I understand what everyone is saying, but if you really want a cause go to one of those petstores where the animals are living in near death camp conditions. There is one in almost every city, you all know what i'm talking about. I guess i try to see the good that comes from shows like that, not his drama queen antics. I didn't mean to insult anyone, just give a view from a different angle. Later, Clint

Yeah.....both him and Irwin are pretty lame. I do however like Corwin a little goofy and the show maybe staged but overall he doesn't abuse the animals.

The other two idiot's antics have gotten old real quick. You don't see anyone going up to Elephants and slapping them on their asses or dangling a Chimp from his ankles? It's pretty much the same thing. Or how about having your newborn baby anywhere near a dangerous animal?

I know this guy won't be as popular as the other guys but there is this one guy on Animal Planet Cops Miami(not sure what the show is called)? That traps and captures gators(with bread and a fishing rod) and snakes. He's pretty up there in moron category as well. Maybe I am mistaken but is bread effective in luring gators? Anyone else see this?

Ya i saw that, then his line got snagged on some debris under the water. He gives the rod to a female officer and puts on his scuba gear, dives in to see if he can clear the line. I didn't finish watching though. I wonder what someone gets paid for removing nuisance gators? I agree Corwins a goof ball, he gets a laugh out of me sometimes though. Clint
