search for information ctenosaura palearis

willum Feb 19, 2005 06:19 AM

Hello,
Who keeps the ctenosaura palearis? I have a few questions. For example what does this behaviour means, when the male start to open his mouth and shake with its head when he sees the female?
Is the mature behaviour or is he agressive towards the female? How do you have to breed with them?
All information about this lizard is welcome.
Thank you

I have a female C palearis. She's about 12 years old. I haven't seen any C. palearis-specific behavior though. She lives with a C. similis and she holds her own very well. In the last couple of years she has decided to be less avoidant of my hand, and I've actually picked her up a few times. I had no plans to tame her when I got her. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Roger
