How to kill a cricket?

vampchick00 Feb 19, 2005 08:45 AM

Normally I use medium-sized crickets that do not chirp...but over the past few nights, one is chirping...and it is inside the log in my beardie's tank. I have tried shaking the log like mad...no luck, so, i put the log outside (a few days ago)..(I live in toronto, so it does get cold). I thought I had killed it, but nope, the other night it was chirping again. So, once again I put it outside cause it was colder than before. So I was wondering...do crickets just hibernate in cooler temps? and if so, how do i kill the thing!

Hi,
I had that happen to me a while ago. If you fill up a bucket (bigger than the log)with water and put the log in that for about 30 mins that should kill the cricket because they drown in water very easily. Good luck and hope this helps.

I agree with Meghan! Water will do the trick!
