How much water do I mix in with vermiculite. Anybody got a mix you can recommend???
I think it is one to one by weight.......but I never weigh anything ......
easiest way to do it........
I add a little hot water to vermic' in a box or bowl or right in the incubator.........add and mix WELL......add more of water or vermiculite as needed.......
to tell if it is done.and correct....
I TELL PEOPLE IT WILL STILL LOOK DRY BUT BE MOIST ENOUGH TO STICK TOGETHER IN A LUMP WHEN PRESSED INTO A BALL ....
feels a little damp but like I said.it will almost still look dry.........
let it set a few days.it will change color and may need more water after it sets awhile........
little bit dry can be better than a little too wet......
add water to corners or edges of box if needed ..........never dump water on the eggs..........*(yes I do it ....yes I get away with it........but you may or may not .....)....
bury eggs half way........or less for pythons......
halfway or more for colubrids if needed........
-----
.................
My humidity is at 85 % - 90% in the incubator is that ok????
