Starter Croc

coluberking25 Feb 19, 2005 03:16 PM

Hey I was just wondering what species of crocodilian make good "starter pets?" I mean what would be a good choice for the first time crocodilian owner?

Well i wouldnt really say theres a "starter" croc but gators would have to be the most tame and docile if thats possible. The only thing about them is their large adult size. I would suggest starting with a monitor first. A monitor would be good to give you a little bit of an idea what to expect.

Thanks a lot. I was told gators are the most tame, but caimans are so much smaller! Unfortunately, I don't have room for a monitor(maybe an ackie though), but I also plan on getting another snake. I was really just curious about what's good and what isn't.
