Light schedule?

LinsCubb Feb 19, 2005 05:40 PM

Hello again everyone, I read in a book that schedule of lighting is as important as lighting itself. If this is true how many hours should you have the lights on? 7 to 7 (12 hours)? or longer or shorter? Let me know! Thanks a bunch for everyones post, I will keep everyone updated on how the baby is doing.

We have ours on timers, 7 AM to 9 PM. It has worked for 11 years. "Bubba" our origional dragon is 11 years old and still going strong with the same light schedule all his life.

During winter I keep my lights on for ten hours and in the summer I keep them on for fourteen.

A 12-14 hour schedule in summer and 8-10 in winter is the most common recommended for lighting. And, BTW, just to state the obvious, an electronic timer is the easiest and most consistent way of setting this up .
