Here is a pic of my 03' motley male- Norman Jr. At 18 months old he showed no interest whatsoever in breeding these past few months, but he is still my favorite boa! Post pics of your motleys breeding to make me jealous! lol.

This girl is just starting to get a little color. She will be a smoker at 5-6'. Motleys are the coolest boas with so much going on with that pattern and colors! Very hardy, great feeders and growers, excellent temperaments, and so variable! They are the real deal circleback, laddertail, striped tail boa! I can't wait to see the Motley combos that will start coming out along with supers!

The ever-studly-stud-muffin "Murphy" and the always-mesmerizing "Jessica", a Ronne Hypo Monstertail, who by her own accord, is the most wonderful creature who ever slithered the planet.

Here she is after she lost her girlish figure in ovulation....poor thing... I shouldn't be showing these pics of her to the world when she's not at her best

She is due around April 11. We ultrasounded her yesterday, but due to a previous probe electrical short, my vet's ultrasound machine was only showing crappy pics. We did see a number of babies through all the wavy lines on the screen , but were not able to count them, which would have been fun. I guess it will have to be a surprise, or I'll have to break down and get my own ultrasound.....hmmmmm....it has been a temptation.....if I could only find a way to justify the purchase.....hmmmmm

Enjoy the pics and thanks for looking.

Monstertail Hypo Motleys! I am sooooo jealous! She's really nice especially when ovulating! lol. I can't wait to see the awesome babies she drops! Keep me posted and good luck with her, Linda.

LindaH Feb 19, 2005 07:41 PM

Jessica is the coolest girl. I got her from John Lokken who raised her up right and spoiled her rotten. Yesterday, there were four of us standing at the table, looking for babies. She was so cute.....going from person to person tongue flicking all the cheeks, noses and foreheads...and snoodling through our hair. Her cute face, big eyes and gentle nature can turn the most fearful snake-a-phobe into an admirer. I saw it happen in mere moments yesterday with one of the vet techs. Alacadabra!!!!!!one less snake hater in the world!!!!

what would the litter turn out be? Would it be a guess? Interesting none the less.Nice pics BTW!

LindaH Feb 19, 2005 08:42 PM

I'm not very good at it either, however I'm hoping for some Motleys, a smidgeon of Hypo Motleys, perhaps a smidgeon of Hypos and some normals.

I have a feeling whatever you get, you'll be one happy camper. Good luck! Thanks

snakepimp Feb 19, 2005 10:26 PM

Presuming that she is not a super, which it seems form Linda's words that she is not, then the probabilities are;

1/4 "Normals" - Though I think tha'ts a misleading term in this pairing's case.

1/4 Hypos from that stunning monstertail sweetheart line...

1/4 Motleys - yowza!

1/4 Hypo Motleys (aka snakes you should just send to me, because they'll end up ugly and mean and no one will want them anyway, I promise...)

Of course you could have 1/2 "Normals," and 1/2 Hypo Motleys....
Just a roll of the dice, that, but it should fall pretty close to the numbers above...

I am wondering if your MotleyxMotley breeding resulted in an ovulation.

to your question.....and I just sent it and it disappeared. CRAP!!! Does anyone know how to recover posts when that happens? I'm going to start writing the long ones in Word first. CRAP!!!

I'll try to write it again.

One thing I do with the long replies, that I have developed out of habit from losing extensive amounts of my life to the accidental erasure of typed text, is: When I realize it is going to be a long one I periodically pause and do a "CTRL-A" to highlight the entire text box, and "CTRL-C" to copy it. I do this regularly as I type, and always just before I post. If it gets erased I just "CTRL-V" it back into place and, voila!
I don't know your level of skill with the computer, so I hope this is simple enough but not too simple.

CHEERS ALL!!!

are you meaning to do this in the forum message box you get when you click on "reply"? I was answering in the message box and then clicked on "Post Message" and then it never appeared on the forum. What happened? Can it be recovered from somewhere? Wishful thinking....I know.

Well, I think it must have been a fluke, where there was a flurry of surreptitious key-bumping that resulted in accidentally erasing your post. there is now way to recover it that I am aware of. That stinks when thing slike that happen...
Good luck with your breeding this year Linda.

I'm excited to see what the Hypo Motleys look like...as in: Will they retain the symetrical pattern of the Motley....or will they have a whacky pattern like I've seen in some. I like both, so either way, I will be a happy camper.

Here are a couple of pictures of my little guy breeding one of our normal girls. He has been breeding this girl on and off for the past two weeks so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. We've witnessed copulation on several ocassions. This girl has a lot of nice orange coloration (it's so hard to take good pictures when these guys are so big LOL) so I'm hoping the babies will come out nice. We'll see...

Thanks,
Celia
