I might go. Drag those visitors with you and go.
I live in S. Oregon
Which is 6 hours from Portland.
Heck if I could figure out away
to get it down here with out shipping.
I would Let one of you do my shopping
for me. LOL

But there's always the Sept show. It's not as big, but fun just the same! I'm sure you'd find your carrottail there
Talk to you later,
Hailey
We've been looking for a reason to go down to Portland and combining it with a reptile show might just give us the push we need to make the 4 hour drive.
Is this show worth it? Do they have lots of gecko vendors?

Sorry I am not able to answer this
Question. Never been to any reptile shows.
But I did hear through the grape vine
that this one, in the spring is better than
the one in the fall. I also want to know more
about the Eugene show. Will read the next
response.
Radena
that is so weird- i've never noticed any difference between the spring and fall ones.

I think it's worth the drive... I drive 3hrs to the Puyallup show. And if you've been wanting to get down to Portland, it would be a good reason. Hillsboro is about 35-45minutes outside of Portland (35 min off the I-5), but it's all freeway driving. The weather should be nice too. One thing to keep in mind is that most of the little shops around P-town close early on the weekends... but still, there is lots to do. As for the show and all the geckos... yes lots of geckos, lots of frogs, Tons of snakes
. Pretty much anything you would have on your shopping list. It is the Unique animal expo.. there's a little room full of herps and a big room full of all other exotics (birds, cats... There's even a little petting zoo). V/s The Puyallup show which is ALL reptiles.
Will be fun! If you've got some spare time, you should take the drive
Regards,
Hailey
is puyallup in WA or OR? when is it? where could i get more info (on the puyallup or eugene ones)? i had never heard of any other shows in OR until i saw a mention in reptiles magazine of one at a hotel in eugene. what are peoples' feelings about these shows?

it's a small show, and not just for reptiles. it's for all exotic pets, and the herps are mostly in a separate room. i enjoy it, and it's cheap. but you're not likely to find extremely rare fare there. the only leopard gecko specialist that attends that comes to mind is evergreen, and i've bought from them a few times, he's a nice guy.

I live near portland, there is also another show, The West coast Captive breeders expo, put on by Reptiles of RA, thats in Eugene, I heard there tables where cheap and its a one day show, so there might be lots of vendors there this year. The one in Hillsboro is twice a year, and then there is the one in Puyallup, the Northwest Captive breeders Expo. We hope to hit at least a few this year. The one in Eugene is March 5th I think. Hope that helps...

The show is in October, I believe its the 22nd, and 23rd. If you go to The Bean Farms website they have info on there, Giovani is the one that puts that show on. Its a great show, we hit it every year.

oh, bummer.
i wish i could go, but i've already asked for that day off (i work weekends only) to go to the open house at OSU's vet school, and they've basically said no. is it a fun show?
i tried to go to the northwest breeder's thingy last year, but my friend's car broke the morning we were supposed to go. it was going to be my birthday present to take me, that was also a bummer. *sigh* reptile shows are the only reason i sometimes wish i lived anywhere near florida.

Ahhh! How come I never heard of these shows?! I live in Albany and have been looking everywhere trying to figure out when shows are. I would have never thought there would be reptile expos or anything close to that in little old Oregon. Cool, Im definately going, maybe I can find a friend for Sobe. Im so glad I read this forum's posts, Im usually in Tegus.
