i noticed in one of your posts that you use home depot tiling as a substrate. I think that's a great idea, do you happen to have a picture of it being used? Thanks

I'll take a pic of it as soon as I can...but my digital camera ran out of batteries and we have none around the house!!!
We had some old tiles left over from when they were tiling our foyer and I kinda swiped them...currently I only have half of the tank covered in tiles (my mom wouldn't let my take all of them) but so far, it is the best substrate I have tried.

if you search the forum for cage pics, there are quite a bit of pics with tile as the substrate....

Oh, the reason I asked was because based on the knowledge you showed in your posts I just assumed you were an adult(my mistake). But then you said something about your mom not letting you take all the tiles so I had to rethink my earlier assumption since you seemed to be taking orders from your mom. I am 18 myself, glad to see a fellow kid showing that we can handle reptiles as pets too.

Yes i didnt mean she was the only one, she just struck me as being exceptionally skilled with geckos. I also keep other pets, a ball python, african clawed frogs, and soon to be a leopard gecko fish.

I'm just 13, soon to be 14 and I've kept leos, a cuban tree frog for 8 years, and I'm getting either a crested or a fat tail soon. Later
