I have a question for all of you who have put in a few years herping. Will all of this extra rain in California do anything exceptional for herping in the spring??

We are having a tremendously wet year - already triple our yearly averages in souther california, I was just wondering if anyone had noticed anything interesting about the springs that followed winters like this in the past. I know the area I hike in most often looks like an example of erosion from a science book right now. I figure this must have some impact on the reptiles in the area (rattle snakes, king snakes, gopher snakes...) I guess I'm just excited for spring to get here and I want to know if there is something EXTRA special I should be looking foreward to this year!

good luck out there,

Jake
