i noticed them as tiny white dots, that move around at a fast enough pace that you aren't in question "did that dot move"?

You may be able to see them under a hand lens. They will look like a tiny spider with eight legs, and two sections (head and abdomen.) Insects will generally have 3 sectons; head, thorax and abdomen.
