Green (Spotted) Bush Snake

blk-mamba Feb 20, 2005 09:41 AM

Does anyone here have experience keeping a Philothamnus semivariegatus (Spotted bush snake)?
I'm particulary interested in vivarium considerations, such as humidity, standing water, even live plants suitable for the species. Thanks in advance.

They are pretty much a standard needs snake in that what is good for a Red Ratsnake is fine by them. You can easily keep this species in a planted aquarium.

As the diet of this species is normally lizards and Frogs make sure you have a good supply. I have on rare occasions seen them take mice-but I would not count on that.
