What Plants To Use in Pond?

I've heard that there are plant that help keep a pond clean

Does anyone know what plants they are?

water hyacinth is good for helping clean small ponds. if you have turtles plan to replace it every so often cause they LOVE to munch the stuff.

Also, the water hyacinth will clog up your filter. Tear off some of the roots because they get long, break off and clog pretty good.

I haven't found one yet that A) they won't eat B) doesn't clog the filter C) looks good. I tried the straw pond pads this year and the results are amazing. Crystal clear water and not too bad at clogging the filter. That's quite an accomplishment here in Arizona where we get hardcore sunlight on the pond until about 1:00pm. Sure beats the pea soup I'd get in previous years.

I already know they will eat it....I go through enough lettuce now lol
