Pine Bedding

Reptyle Feb 20, 2005 02:27 PM

I can usually find this a lot cheaper than I can aspen. Does anyone else use it for their rodent feeders? If not, then why not? I'd continue to use aspen for my snakes but the rodent go through a lot more than the reptiles and I'd like to find a cheaper alternative.

Thanks for any help/advice you can offer.

I have been using pine shaving bedding for a while now and have found no ill effect to the rodents or reptiles I feed. I like you was looking for a cheaper alternative so I searched the archives for this forum and found simiular post that suggested that pine was O.K. , so what the heck, I gave it a shot and hey all has been great!!!!!! .....Good luck

no problems here for 15 years ..actually 30 years off and on....

I know a guy that puts snakes on it too at times.....even $15000 snakes........

.........

NO cedar..........for anything........

try less stinky pine........or whatever you can get.there are different kinds of trees used....some stink more than others.(more oils)
