Head Bobbing and arm waiving.....

Barbedwirecat Feb 20, 2005 05:42 PM

So I moved B.B. into a larger cage right next to my fullgrown beardies cage/room. B.B. is about 6-7" STV. Butterfinger is about 18" (male) Now they CAN see each other, but not closley.
My male is headbobbing and has turned black, and while I understand what that is, my baby beardie is waiving and bobbing and running back and fourth (mostley towards the others cage). I've tried to get some answers, I am still unsure of the babies sex. Is this because it is female, or just because Butterfinger is bigger than it. Just wanted some opinions on it

Your little one is both excited and nervous about the larger dragons and is arm-waving to signify helplessness, as in "I'm tiny and harmless and submissive."

They may adjust, but if it causes them too much excitement, it can cause them stress (specially the little one) and you may need to block their view of each other.

Okay, you've kept them separated. Good for you. Now separate the cages so you quit stressing out either or both of them. They don't need to know there are other beardies in the world in order to be happy.

They are separated now, I did that few minutes after I made that post (realizing what the issue was). They WILL eventually be in the same cage when same size. its a 7' x 6' x3' cage (before anyone freaks out And also pending that this baby is a female (Gah, I still can't tell). I just found thair behaviors rather intreging, since I have never seen Butterfinger do that.
