ig bite

caimanbite Feb 20, 2005 07:49 PM

the animal that produced the bite was a rescue that they had received two days prior. the previous owner said it was tame. they also have another iguana they is very tame, so they thought nothing of having this one run around in the house at that time. i am not sure of the age of this animal or the particulars as it was a rescue. the bite just happened last night and there were 20 stitches required to seal up those cuts.
we also own 9 spec caimans and other animals so they werent too worried about an iguana. lesson learned. to see the other animals just click on link

well, im sure the iggy was just getting used to his surroundings... he probably was overly cautious.. also did you know that when you get an iguana you are supposed to leave it alone for around a week or 3-4 daus at the least to let it adapt to its surroundings? he might have been tame to the people because he knew them for some time and was used to them and then when you guys came around maybe he was like oh no.. who are these weird people that iver known for two days trying to pick me up and stuff.. well be careful and give him time to adjust.. talk to you later and good luck with your new guy and also good luck to the man who was bit!!
