Mangrove subspecies

Jonasgn Feb 21, 2005 01:50 AM

Hey all, i`m new to the rearfang forum, i`m looking to get into rearfangs in the nearest future.
I was just wondering how many subspecies of Boiga dendrophila there are?
And are there any difference in size, and temperement.
Hope you can help me.
Thanks a lot

When I saw your question I checked my newer sources. All My books list one species B.d. melantona Since under the rules of clasification if there were no subspecies you would just have B.dendrophila dendrophila obviously there are more.

Mehrtens supplies the following list which may still be valid.

Boiga dendrophila
melantona
denrophila.....Java

annectens......Borneo
gemicincta.....Celebes

latisfasciata..Mindano-Phillippines
muticincta.....Palawan " "
divergens......Mindano " "
