Blue Tongue scale regeneration

There is a juvenile blue tongue that I am considering buying, but there are about 3 or 4 scales on the top of his head by his nose that have been rubbed half off. I am not familiar with how well BTS regenerate scales. If I decided to buy him I want to make sure he is in the best condition possible. Can anyone help?
