dracos apointment is tomorrow at 4:15. he is getting really skinny because he wont eat. and his mouth is pussing really bad. i hope they can help him. i dont know what i would do if i lost him. he is such a sweet lizzard. wish him luck.

i have an appointment myself at 5;40. so i have to go right from his apointment to mine. i cant reschedule because i really need this apointment because im getting over a misscarriage and having problems. and he really needs his apointment too. i dont think they will let me bring him in the doctors office with me so he will have to stay in the car with my sister. what would be the best way to keep him warm. will the heat in the car be good enough untill we get home? he does not like to be covered in blankets. thank you -brandy

you might ask your vet if he can stay there till you get done with your appointment, i'm sure your vet wouldn't mind him staying there for an hour or so if you bring a crate or something to keep him in.

do you think that you could get him a heating pad thingy that plugs into the cigarette lighter on the dash board? i have heard that those work really well...

Sorry for your loss. I went through that a few years back and it sucks. As for your uro try to put him into and large purse type thing with blankets and just walk into the doctors office and have your sister sit i the waiting room with it. No one has to know what is inside. If it is cold outside I'm sure the office would have the heat on. Good luck to you both.

draco wouldnt fit in my sisters purse. he is a 4 and a half foot iguana. that would be a good idea though if it were spike. (my uromastyx)
im sorry for your loss too. its such a hard thing to go through.

When I posted I was confused and thought I was on the Uro forum. Spike and Buddy would have no problem in a purse but Draco... I didn't know he was that big. WOW. So what did you end up doing with him? Thank you for thinking about me and my loss too. Hope both your appointments went well (Draco and yours)

thank you debs. im not sure how long it took for him to get that size because he was a rescue and he was 4 feet when we got him.
i have two others close to the same size who were also rescues so i dont know how long with them either. i also have one the size of tiny. his name is meanie because he hates me. lol
hopefully my draco will be home saftly with me tomorrow. im worried sick about him.

im going to ask if i can leave him there till im done. i diddnt even think of that. im sure they wont have a problem with it. i diddnt know they made heating pads for the car. im definantly going to stock up on those! thanks so much for all the advice.

They have a lighter adapter that you plug into your lighter space in your car. Then You just plug in your heating pad like you would into the wall at home. You can get these at radio shack and some computer supply stores I believe. Office Depot and places like that..

draco has an absys sp? they kept him overnight and are going to remove it. they have to put him under so i hope he gets through it ok. he was so scared and just huged onto me when they tried to take him away. i hated leaving him. poor baby. im so worried about him. as for me, they want more blood tests and another ultrasound. oh joy! thanks everyone. ill let you know how he got through it. -brandy

Poor baby I know how you feel. OT- When I leave any of my animals I feel bad because they look at me like where are you going. Anyways I'm sure he is fine and that nasty thing will be gone. As for you well just do what the doctors want and you should be ok too.

thank you. i just called the doctor and they said draco is ready to go home. so he made it through ok. i was so worried. but they said i have to pick him up between 3 and 6 because thats when the doctor will be back and he wants to talk to me. and once again i have another apointment for myself. because my doctor ordered a stat ultrasound. jeesh things are hectic these days.
but i wont have to bring him with me. im going to pick him up, bring him home and then leave for the ultrasound. thanks for all your support guys!
