that's why i try to point people away from them. Humidifiers are better in my opinion. I'm sure u can find a replacement online.

humidifiers & misters are not interchangable!!!

a humidifier increases the humidity

a mister provides drinking water

you NEED a mister

you may or maynot need a humidifier (get a guage to determine the need)

Humidifiers are not an answer for everyone! I got this same type of reply when I had questions on misters. With the current weather conditions and 3 large live plants in my Veiled's cage, the humidity stays around 60% with little to no help. When I mist it jumps up to 80% for a while. If I used a humidifier and misted the cage so he could drink, the humidity would stay unacceptably high for my veiled. Remember, a humidifier cannot replace misting or a dripper for drinking (with my veiled, misting works better than a dripper).

A mister does not do the same thing as a humidifier. Recommending that somebody dump their mister for a humidifier without knowing anything about the person's set-up is irresponsible!

first of all, don't accuse me of irresponcibility. I've kept many chams and other reps. I wasn't referring him to only use a humidifier as an only means as drinking water for his cham. And it wasn't directed towards you so do me a favor and shut your mouth. I use drip systems, humidifiers, and misters in my cages. My cages were so big that the humidifier didn't act that much as a humidifier, but a mister. I would put it on heavy and it would let water build on the leaves to where my cham could drink if it wanted to. If he would have been more specific and said that he uses the mister as his only means of drinking/humidity then of course i wouldn't have said use a humidifier. Don't flame me because the original posts information wasn't complete.

You're right, he doesn't say that he only uses a mister for drinking and he very well may not. However, his question was concerning a mister--not a humifier. You made a blanket statement that, in your opinion, a humidifier is better than a mister. How can you say that not knowing what he is using a mister for???

I agree that the humidifier setups are great, but they do not suit all of us. So, to just state that a humidifier is better than a mister, with no follow up doesn't really make much sense or help the situation.

Tell them that your pump burnt out, and ask for a replacement pump. I'm sure they'll sell it to you for less than the normal price of the whole system. The pumps are almost the entire cost of the unit(well, the timer probably costs them $15-$20). I think you could get a pump from them for ~$50-$60.

does any one know if the pump in the link above will just fit in with the tubing i already installed? it looks pretty much the same and the one that came with the mr. moisture. if that one doesnt work then i'll go to wetworksms.com and ask. thanks.

I don't think that it will fit the tubing you already have, but unfortuantely, I'm not sure--sorry. Your best bet would be to contat both wetworks to find out get the messurements and then contact the company in the link and see if it will work.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

it depends on you...
how handy are you?
anything can be made to work...with enough creativity

really,
what size is the existing tubing?
you may need something similar to this;

http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/productdetail.jsp?xi=xi&ItemId=1611626675&ccitem=

watch the hose barb size (match your existing tube)
the pump already states that it has "1/8" NPT Female ports" so you will need a 1/8" NPT male fitting to mate with it

all of this should be available at home depot

or you may already have that on your old burned out pump so check that out

again this is all theory I have not tried any of the above but would not hesitate to do it myself

This weekend when i came home mr. moisture had been running for several hours, smelled like burning rubber, and was too hot to touch. I quickly turned it off refilled the bucket and turned it on agian, didn't move the water an inch. Yesterday I figgured I try it one more time before i bought a new pump, and it worked! I ran several cycles to make sure everything was still in working order and to my amazement it was as good as new. Thank you all who responded, but thankfully I don't need it!
