Big Mama Patternless Pine

Nokturnel Tom Feb 21, 2005 08:20 PM

Fresh out of brumation, 7 years old this year. A very gentle snake and best of all...........goes into the famous Pine bluff routine AFTER you put her back in her cage. So you get to enjoy holding her for a while without worry and then get to see all the huffing and puffing when she retires back to her cage. The perfect Pit Tom Stevens

Wow nice. How long is this Pine?

Nokturnel Tom Feb 22, 2005 12:46 AM

She's about 6 foot. I am going to breed and Albino she produced in 02 to its father this year, and the Albino is about 5 and a half foot...but not quite as stocky. This pic was straight out of the brumation container so she is on a completely empty stomach. I don't handle her much anymore since she's so damn huge but she almost always is OK with it. Wow what a nice snake. She must be a joy to bring out, plus get a work out tossing her around. How many eggs do you expect from her?

I got 13 last year but a few went bad. They were gigantic eggs and a lot of fun to hatch out. The Albinos John Lassiter posted a few posts below were produced by her........and all the rest were normal colored Patternless and there was one normal blotched in clutch. They were all really cool looking. Tom Stevens

hope your feeling better Tom. If you ever get any high red/white contrasting albino pines from your animals please let me know. I'm sure you might not want to part with them, but maybe i could pry them away from you somehow. Good luck with that big female this year! I hope to be on aol a little this weekend so i'll talk to you then.

Have a good one,

Gregg F.

Ya know, this snake has produced very nice babies including those 2 nice Pink ones John scored from me, but this year I got a very Orange one too and another friend of mine now owns it. I can't wait to see how it develops. I am also hoping I get babies from the Albino I am breeding for the first time this year. It very well may have slightly diffeent color tones in that clutch. I am all out of 04 babies and of everything I produced I will miss those the most, they're great pets. Tom Stevens

I am glad to see such enthusiam for these under rated snakes. I understand peoples interest and admiration for Northerns and locale specific snakes but these Pine Morphs are a lot of fun to work with. Such easy snakes to care for and great display animals. It is easy to see that in the next few years Pit Morphs are going to take the hobby by storm. It's been too long that other colubrid keepers have shunned these magnificent snakes, speaking for both locale specifics and morphs. Bring on the PITS! It makes me extremely happy to know my babies end up in the right hands, enjoy your snakes and post pics when they get some more size on them....like in 2 weeks LOL Tom Stevens
