From what I have seen Maritime garter snakes appear to have the greenest coloration of any garter snakes.
Does anyone know of any others with as green a background color or stripes.

Normally, checkered garters are either tan or a dull olive green, but I've seen specimens with a reduced checkered pattern that are a bright green.
Those sound nice. Do you have any pictures of the bright green phase?

Most wandering garters I've seen are an olive green with black checkers...
I too have found a lot of wandering garters with a dull olive green/brown background color as well.

The Maritime I posted pics of was the greenest garter I've ever seen. Alot of the garters around here are pretty dull brown, although I've seen reddish brown, yellowish and even turqoise-ish ones.
