Very Awesome! I wish I could take some good "event" shots. The eye of that leo looks very cool. What camera did you use to get those close ups?

You should start talking to a stock photography house. There is a lot of commercial potential for images like this.

Stock images are images that have commerical appeal, but are not shot for a specific client. Stock images have a message or visual meaning that can be applied to advertising on many levels. For example, your image of your leo about to devour a bug could be used by any company that has a "predatory" attitude about their product. Company "X" calls a stock image house and says that they are looking for a image tghat evokes the idea of them about to eat up the competition and the image broker would show them your image and a few others to choose from. Stock images basically sit in an image bank and are paid for when they are used by an advertiser. Hot images get used over and over and you get paid again and again. It's a good gig and difficult to get in with a stock agency, BUT you are one of the few people in the world that has or can get unique images like yours. As a photographer I saw your image and immediately thought of the commercial potential. Commercial potential equals income! I don't want to get your hopes up, but that is one striking image.

Okay..this is gonna sound like a dumb question, buuut..is that just like a plain ol' cricket? Crazy, I know, but it looks so..colorful and stuff..the crickets we get up here are just plain old brown and nowhere near as bright and colorful and healthy looking.

eve_scotland Feb 22, 2005 03:23 PM

It is a locust that is being fed they are quite a bit larger than crickets but my gex love them also

eve_Scotland Feb 23, 2005 03:25 AM

Yeah i get them from www.livefood.co.uk im from Scotland in the UK, you should be able to get them from any good reptile stockist or mail order over the internet - its exciting to watch the gecko's hunt them bcoz the are so agile!
