Is it common for Nile's...

...to mark their territory by defecating? When I changed my Nile's hot side hide/basking rock out with a bigger one the first thing he did was poop on it. Then today I put a new cold side hide in and sure enough there was poop on it as well. If that common for them to poop to mark their terroitory. He's only defecated on my twice in the almost two years that I've had him, he's not normally a pooper.

They mark their territory, other monitors territory, and tell alot of info in that pile. Its also a defense to crap on you big time.

Part of the reason that I have a monitor is to watch it's behavior. I am also fortunate that my Nile doesn't crap on me a whole lot and hardly ever uses his tail, biting is another story though.
