Hello All,
I am thinking of trying to breed a species of turtle. I
currently breed bearded dragons and California kingsnakes.
I have some Russian tortoises hibernating now. I chose
Russian torts because they can hibernate in covered
outdoor exclosures. Can anyone suggest any other species
(aquatic or terrestrial)that can hibernate through a REAL
winter or atleast in basement in the 50's.
How about a species of box turtle?
I can not leagally keep eastern box turtles because they
are a protected species in Massachusetts as are spotted,
Blanding's, wood, bog, Plymouth redbellies turtles and
diamond back terripins.
I've included an old photo of my Russian pen so you can see what I
have to work with. Some have been
modified since this photo.
Any other suggestions?
Thank you,
Brian
