Aztec Corn Questions

gant77 Feb 22, 2005 07:14 PM

Can anyone tell me about how this variation came about? I have only seen one for sale but I would like to purchase a hatchling.
Thanks for any help! -Casey

aztec.zig-zag......same thing....Kathy Love created the zig-zag at the same aproximate time that John Albrecht created the aztec corn.....

simply by mixing corns with a little bit of pattern together until he got some full patterned ones.then kept breeding them together to get more and more and better ones....

John then sold some to Dan Thomasco who bred them and got babies..sold them to me.I picked out the best ones from about 24 of them and sent them to R ich Z uchowski who then named them aztecs.......

I also bought the first lavenders produced from this line also from John which were also aztec in pattern *(R Z uchowski had the first lavender I just bought the first sold) ......

then I got lavenders and aztecs and then while breeding them together I got pink snows and white snows....?.odd.then aztec pinks.which were the first opals........I sold a white and a pink to RZ ..I had 2 he had 2 (one pink one white each).all males........all dead now........

years go by..lavenders sold well for RZ and TR.....I couldn't sell them in Pa because people said""oh look another "brown" corn."...then about 2 years later they said.oh they are lavender.and paid $400 for them ........*(I paid $33)......

anyways.........

learn all this and more from looking it all up under s e r p e n c o . c o m

have fun............
