Hello I got my first iguana today. Normally I keep snakes and monitors, but anyways I got him from a pet store, they were all wild and crazy but him, just sat in my hand I thought of that as a good thing, till i got home, in his new enclosure, he wont move!, its been 5 hours hes sat in the same spot, hes only a few months old, and when i hold him he just sits there. I thought most iguanas were crazy? DID I JUST GET LUCKY? OR DO YOU THINK THERE COULD BE SOMETHING WRONG WITH HIM? thanks in advance!

Ummm, that's not really normal.... I would either go get him checked by a vet, or take him back and get a new one. Baby iguanas are very hyper and should be very active.

from my personal experience from working at a pet store. let me guess. they had about 20 to 30 of them all cramed in a small tank? its always tempting to pick the most tame and laid back animal. but with iguanas and reptiles in general you want to get the most lively. these animal are shiped to the pet store in bags with about 5 lizzards to a bag. inside of a box. soemtimes with no heat sorce. then are dumped into the tank with the other iguanas that are already at the store. there is not enough food for all of them. and the bigger ones eat first. and the smaller ones are starved and trampled on. they are feed crickets and lettuce which is not good. this is probably what happened to your iguana. and this is why i no longer work at a pet store. you should take him to the vet. but i would not bring him back and put him back in that situation. its up to you though. i wish you luck and hope your iguana is ok. let us know how is is doing. -brandy
