Lookin good!!!
Ill get some pics of my new babies up soon. All have shed and several have eaten. Not bad I would say since they are only 11 days old. Keep in touch.

Are you planning on producing any Nics this year? Hypo Nics? Type II's?
Do you have any new pictures of your hypos? I'd love to see them if you could post them here!
Thanks,
Eric

Unfortunately I will not be producing any Nics this year. My girl that I had been counting on had come down with a bad R.I. that I cant seem to get to go away, I have tried a couple of courses of Tylan, and I am now finishing up a cycle of Baytril, but it seems as though I will probably never get her well, lol. Damn Snake!! Ill post some pics soon.

Thanks
Bob

Bob,
I have used Amakasin (spelling?) to treat a RI with success in the past. I was administering injections in the front third of the boas back (injected into muscle off the side of the spine) every three days. I'm not sure of the dosage, as my vet had measured all of the syringes out for me ahead of time. The RI cleared up in less than two weeks. I couldn't be happier with the results.
Just something you may want to try.
Best of luck,
Eric

Thanks, I suggested Amikacin to my vet. But he said that he wanted to try Baytril first--less necroptic to tissue. But she has only one more shot of Baytril, and she will be going back in to get some Amikacin.

On another note, I did produce some nice hypo colombians this year, and another litter due in a few days. So atleast something has worked out this year. This has been a year of many hurdles for me in the snake room. But there is always next year.

Here is a pic of one of the keepers pre shed...

They have all shed now so Ill get some updated pics up soon....

Is Baytril administered orally? I have never used it, that is why I ask.
Smokin little hypo! How many hypos did you have in the litter?

robertmcphee Feb 23, 2005 11:16 AM

Baytril is injected subcutaneously for ten days in a row. I had 12 hypos and 11 nice pastel/normals. Here is a pic of two of them before shed. Lots of stripes!! and abberant patterns like their dad.

Wow, those babies are very nice! Have you sold all of the hypos already? Do you have a website with pictures of them on it?
Best of luck with your sick boa as well as those babies!

Updated pics will be posted soon. None have been sold yet. There is only one that will be held back. Was waiting a little longer to sex them all. They were born on Feb. 11. Half of them have eaten once for me, so it wont be long until they are ready. I will probably posting some of them in the next couple of weeks.

Ill let you know where you will be able to see updated pics of all of them when I list them.

Thanks
Bob
