Western Toads and Boreal Toad question

creepypiercedchk Feb 22, 2005 10:27 PM

I have 2 Western Toads named Bingo and Dauber and (now) one Boreal Toad named Joel. Joel's brother Benji recently passed away. Benji did not get a disease, he was always a weak toad. He had deformed legs which prevented him from hopping correctly. Eventually his little body just gave up. Anyway, Benji and Joel were really close, and I don't want Joel to get depressed because he now lives alone. I was wondering if I could put Joel with the Western Toads. Someone told me that Western Toads are cousins of the Boreal Toads, and they look pretty similar. Their sizes are pretty comparable also. Could someone tell me if this would be okay? I just want to do what would be best for Joel. I may not have been able to save Benji, but the least I want to be able to do is to make sure Joel has a good life. Thank you!

Toads are not communal animals thus "Joel" would be perfectly happy by himself. If you prefer to keep the trio together the only concern would be overcrowding your terrarium.

Western and Boreal toads share the same locale so I think they'd be fine in the same terrrarium as long as it's not overcrowded.
