jopay Feb 23, 2005 12:31 AM

gud day sir/maam, im joseph from the philippines, im havin problems w/ my male ball python. last december, he is eatin voraciously on a weekly basis, but come january, and he is eatin for every 2 to 3 weeks. And as i checked him 2 days ago, i saw a tick. maybe it was accidentally acquired when i joined a petshow here, when he was displayed w/ other snakes. Should i worry bout these things? tnx

I wouldnt worry too much. Just keep checking him for ticks and mites. I say offer him food every week, if hes hungry he'll eat. My snake will only eat ever couple of weeks. Different snakes have different eating habbits. If Im wrong tell me. I hope this helps.

I don't know a whole lot about ticks and mites, but most ball pythons stop eating completely in January/February... I would expect the reduction of appetite to be completely normal and absolutely nothing to worry about.

Good luck,
Bristen.
