Pics of a Mali Pair

lovelyleopards Feb 23, 2005 12:17 PM

I don't frequent this forum very much as I only have a single pair of Mali Uromastyx, but I thought I'd stop by and post this recent pic I took of them (their names are Barney and Betty). Does the female look gravid by any chance? I haven't observed any breeding, but the male has been slightly aggressive toward her, which is totally out of character for him. They had a nice long brumation and were brough up around the very end of December/beginning of January. She looks awfully fat to me, but it could just be a combination of my wishful thinking and the fact that's she's been stuffing her face ever since she woke up. Anyhow, just thought I'd drop by and post a pic.

Well, I have two femals and they both look like that=)! Then again, I don't brumate them and they eat very well.

well if she is not gravid now, maybe she will be soon. i have never bred uros but i have noticed with my other lizards that the girls will stuff themselves silly and the guy will start trying to get with the girls, even if the eggs are not there yet. hopefully you are on your way. what kind of aggression? neck biting?
