Supplements -- Reptocal ?? Opinions?

Redkite7 Feb 23, 2005 07:21 PM

Hi all,

I'm planning on getting a few gold dusts in... a long time, but I am gathering all the accessories now.

I bought a 2 oz bottle of Tetrafauna ReptoCal "For All Reptiles, Includes Calcium and Vitamin D3." Is this a good brand for dusting my feeder items for the gold dusts?

http://www.tetra-fish.com/catalog/product.aspx?id=429 There's the product listing.

Thanks for all your help!

never used that. i've been using the Rep-Cal Calcium with Vit. D (phosphorus free) and the Rep-Cal Herptivite multivitamins (w/beta carotene) for the last few years and they seem to be working out pretty good for me.

you can get them for a pretty good price on www.herpsupplies.com

If you provide a UVB bulb then you won't want to use the vitD3 calcium supplement. Too much vitD3 is bad. Instead use the Rep-Cal Herptivite vitamins and gutload the crickets with calcium enriched food and/or gelatine. I use Fluker's for that.

I've been reading about whether or not to provide UVB bulbs and I was going to go with only providing dietary d3.... for one, the UVB bulbs are uber expensive and I don't have that much money as a college kid, I'd rather spend the money on a regular High-quality bulbs that lldg reccommends on his post a bit further down.

I was just looking for reccomendations on whether the supplement I picked up was good or not.
