Question

The other day my friend got a baby snow, 6 inches. We put it in my cage with my 7 month adult to get to know each other while setting up his own. They didn't do anything for about ten minutes. Then I put some cricets in to break the tension, the adult 16 inches, ate them all then walked by its purch then nipped at the face of the little one it ran and mine chased after it then I took it out and noticed the baby burrowing in the sand to hide. Took it out to notice no harm done but sand in its eye. We squirted its eye with water then put it in its own cage at friends. We've noticed that it opened its eye partially then closed it where its remained. we've left it alone till today. My friend isn't home so I didn't check on it. Will it be okay? I have always thought mine was a female but since the attack we all think its a male, Do you? Would a female attack? And could it of mistaken it for a pinky cause I've fed it a white one before. Thanks for replys.

never keep beardies that are different size together. if it moves and will fit in a dragons mouth it is food. doesn't matter male or female.

my female attacked my male when he was only an 8 month old. He was being annoying and she went after him, grabbed his tail and ripped it open. He had to get 5 stitches and was on antibiotics for a week to keep it from getting infected...

So... don't put them together!

Try using natural tears eye drops to flush out the remaining sand. You should NEVER put a smaller dragon with a larger one, it doesn't matter if your dragon is male or female, if it's remotely smaller, it's food. Last year I sold some baby beardies that I hatched to a local pet shop. I even offered they owner care sheets for the babies and he said " no need, I know how to care for them". Well, the next time I visited the pet store, I got sad news. The owner who knew everything put my babies in a tank with a larger dragon. The larger one quickly snapped one of the babies neck and tried to eat it but it was too big to fit down it's throat. Luckily the pet store owner was able to get the other babies out before they were killed. It still breaks my heart to think of what happened to one of my precious babies. Now when I sell my babies, I tell them not to put them with bigger dragons. Your friends little dragon got lucky, it could have been alot worse than just sand in it's eye. Best of luck, Christy
