I got one Eastern female that just looks ready to go. She shed about 10 days ago.

Any other good news out there?

I have a TX girl ready to lay very soon, pre-lay shed a few days ago.

2 easterns bred very late (late Dec) this year...it's going to be a while before I know what's gonig on with them

I have two female couperi that should be laying w/in the next week (of course, I am going to be out of town for most of March...nothing like banking this year's success on 12 year old daughters!...but, money is a great motivator and I told them that if they check the egg boxes every day, and, once the mother lays them, put them in the incubator properly, that there will be a very big PAYOUT which for 12 year old daughters means NEW CLOTHES!)....GULP.

One Eastern shed on 2/14 and should lay any day. Second Eastern is in shed now. Texas indigo just shed and should lay eggs mid-March. Fat Bastard's sister (unicolor) is in shed now. A third Eastern fooled me last year and is probably not going to produce this year either.

Well.....I got the Eggs Benidict ok...but the darn Hashbrowns just wont come out crispy? Any suggestions? I've tried and tried, but just cant seem to get home made hash browns to taste like restaraunt bought ones. They just dont TASTE the same...and arent as crispy..Oh WELL.... So much for THAT project

Wishing and hoping for the succes of all snake related projects that are posted here. And my Eggs Benidict...of course.

God Bless,

Fred Albury

You need to shred the spuds, shape them into a patty, freeze them, then cook with really hot oil. Let me know how that turns out.

Fred,
Boil the (whole) potato.
Cool in the frig overnight (firms them up).
Shred them and add fresh ground pepper and salt.
Then make the paddy as Doug suggested.
Fry in med-high olive oil.

Project 2, is stuffed bell peppers with hot-sausage and onions.

Good luck, I hope many new Indigos are born this year.

Your recipe is for delicious and tasty hash-browns, the kind that mom used to make and what we dream about... Fred wanted restaurant cryspy style

Dan...Doug etc al,

What I am SEEKING is :

Hashbrowns that taste LIKE moms(Except mom never made them, so how the heck would I know eh?) as well as the CRISPINESS that the restaraunt variety offers so readily. YES...you heard me right....I want TASTE and TEXTURE!! I want it all!! muahahahah!

(Remind any of you guys of SOME of the snake buyng public that want::

1) An ATTRACTIVE snake that is gentle....and COLORFULL..but doesnt get TOO large....but not to small either....that doesnt need Ultraviolet light....and doesnt kill by constriction, that can be housed in a ten gallon tank...no make that a five gallon...along with an anole.....and a pacmanfrog.....and that doesnt eat MICE or RATS. And that LIKES to be handled. Daily. Even after eating...And that can handle me being on vacation for four weeks in July....

Yeah...nothing like wanting it ALL.

Now......HASHBROWN RECIPES please?

LOL
God Bless,

Fred Albury

P.S.
Thanks Chuck

I never was much for cooking myself
You guys are making me hungry

frankdunham Feb 25, 2005 10:35 AM

Fred, you were a bit vague. I am assuming you are using couperi eggs and not unicolors in the Benidict part. That just won't work. Your grandson hatchling from last year is doing great. Thanks again. Frank

Fred Albury Feb 25, 2005 04:47 PM

Um...er..actually they were corn snake eggs. Never got the courage up to use a couperi. Dont hate me for falsly advertising my cooking skills.....

Glad to hear your Indigo is doing fine.

God Bless

Fred

Just poked my head in for a look this morning and it looks as if she is getting closer...

Once they shed how long USUALLY does it take to lay?
