Looking for Herpers in the Silver Spring, MD area

RYuen05 Feb 24, 2005 01:23 PM

I was looking to see if there were any herpers in the Silver Spring, MD area to perhaps meet up with and talk reptiles. I don't know of many people down here who know about reptiles or even like them. Just wanted to see if there were any people in my area that know their stuff.

Hey nice to meet a fellow herper around here. Most people I've talked to around here work in pet shops and aren't always sure about what to do and stuff. I was just wondering on how to tame snakes and maybe if someone who knew what they were talkin about could help me out. I have this yearling blood python (not 100% sure on what exact type it is) that seems to be pretty aggressive. Like everytime I stick my hand in the cage it tries to snap at me but when i first got it last week it was fine. Perhaps we could arrange a meeting or something and then you could take a look at this guy and tell me what you think.

Thanks,
Ryan

Younger animals are usually a little less tame than older ones that have been living in captivity some time. With age the animals tend to settle down and accept the routine of captivity. How long have had your snake? Perhaps we sould exchange information.
