You usually save most of your money in shipping so the most affordable would be a company who breeds and sells feeders close by you. As for the best I use Big Cheese Rodent Factory and they are located in my state, Texas.
I have heard of a few bad stories with Rodentpro and have used them in the past, but after getting rodents from Big Cheese I will never use Rodentpro again. I will stick with them as long as they are around.

Thanks for the info, i live in Tennessee. Do you know anyone close to me that has rodents on wholesale? I'll check out big cheese.

Also, if you know anyone close to you who has snakes that eat frozen thawed, you can save money by splitting shipping.
The customer service and quality of product were outstanding. I had used other companies before purchasing from them, but they seemed to be a cut above. I would strongly recommend RodentPro.

I have gone with rodentpro for the last 3 years. Zero problems, honest, good prices, and even though I hate to pay shipping, it isn't that bad- they are in the midwest, I am in New York. Check out their site, lots of good information, you can get an estimate and find out the cost of shipping before you actually buy.
When you compare prices, be sure you are comparing "apples to apples" as not all companies size their rodents the same. Some don't even give a weight range just "small med lg"...you could end up with almost anything I suppose. So do your home work, you could get a better deal by comparing or avoid a headache.

I've used them since I begun my lil hobby and they are great. the quality of their feeders are great... I got some large pinkies from them recently and the were more like peach fuzzies. and shipping isn't that bad... I'd go rodentpro all the way.

You are not the first person I have heard say that about getting the wrong sized mice... some people like it I guess.
But personally, I would be pissed if I got the wrong size pinks. I order sizes for a reason and if I want three day old mice for some growing snakes, I have no use for peach fuzzies. I guess if I had enough snakes of every size, and I knew the product was misrepresented, I could save some pennies that way, but I prefer the pinks when I order pinks, and fuzzies when I order fuzzies, etc.
Tom Anderson
I understand why that would upset some... I on the other hand kind-a like it... I have snakes that vary in age/size so it isn't a problem getting mice that are a little bit bigger...
here's an example of the diversity from one bag of "large pinks"

~ZF
That is cool, if you like it.
I have over 80 snakes and order a variety of sizes sometimes 600 or more at a time. I hate it when I run out of one size due to sizes being wrong.
I just did a comparison on pricing between Rodentpro and Big Cheese Rodent Factory for the following:
200 fuzzy mice
100 hopper mice
300 rat pinks
Rodentpro estimated before shipping $157 / after shipping $197.38
Big Cheese estimated before shipping $199 / after shipping $190.00
And with Big Cheese I always get the shipment 1 day early since I am in the same state. They pay for 2nd day delivery and it arrives the next day all the time and they give better bulk discounts as you can see.
Just wanted to share.

I buy mice from them every now and then, as it is WAY cheaper than the pet stores. I get 100 day old pinky mice, and they come out to around $54 shipped, which is better than spending $1.17 a damn mouse at PetCo! 100% Excellent Customer Service on their part, they always reply quick, and I was 100% satisfied with all of my mice from them. I highly recommend them to anyone looking to buy mice.

I believe you would be best off finding a rodent breeder close to you, if not Tom Anderson's idea of jointly ordering and paying shipping would benifit you as well.
I guess it is like this. The closer you are the better. All the Northeasterners (New Yorkers and such) use and swear by Rodentpro even though some of us down here in Texas use them, we will have to pay for steep shipping and usually get partially thawed mice that look unappealing and smell of rodent urine (true story from rodentpro buyer).
Now all the breeders here in Texas will swear by Big Cheese Rodent Factory. They have the best product that is clean, actual size (I would dislike getting peach fuzzies if I ordered a large pinks Zenny), packaged and packed great, fresh, delivered promptly and overall top notch.
And too each his own!
John Lassiter
I have mine shipped from out of state. I pay .15 for adult mice. Thing is I won't give out the sellers name because then there won't be any mice left for me when I want to order.
