Switching to Rats

DominaEve Feb 24, 2005 02:31 PM

I am going to switch my baby Ball from mice to rats. He has proven to be vey moody when it comes to eating (aren't they all). It took two months to transition to f/t from live, but we made it!

Any suggestions to try and make this next transition easier? Have any of you experienced problems going from mice to rats? If so, how did you get through it?

I appreciate any advice given.

When It came to switching from mice to rats, I first feed them a small hopper mouse and then the next week I feed them a small hopper mouse and as soon as them are done with the Hopper I tried a small rat and they took it. The next week I just feed them a Rat and they switched with no problem. Ive done all my Ball Pythons this way and had no problems switching.

If you are lucky you will find a shop that can provide you ith a vairty of rat sizes. You can go from a large mouse to a wiening rat and then to a small rat. it is a great transition.
