Please, help with ideas for housing 1 or 2 baby chondros.

JDalbo Feb 24, 2005 02:40 PM

I'm about to get 1 or 2 baby chondros but I need help with how to house them. I know I should use a rack with tubs but does anyone know who sells racks for only a couple tubs? I dont need a large rack w/ 6-8 tubs in it. Any ideas on how to house only a couple? In the book "the complete chondro" they show how to use a single tub with lamp, but I dont think that would work as well as using under tub flexwatt. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks

IN MY EXPERIENCE THEIR ARE LOTS OF DIFFERNT WAYS...

ONE OF THE WAYS THAT I USE SOMETIMES IS JUST USING A NORMAL GLASS AQUARIUM WITH A SCREEN LID... AND IF YOU GET A WET TOWL THAT IS LARGE ENOUGH TO FOLD IN HALF AND COVER HALF OF THE TOP... THIS WILL SOLVE THE PROBLEM OF LETTING OUT THE HUMIDITY...

WHEN YOU GET THE TOWEL WET DONT PUT IT ON THE TOP SOAKED... RING IT OUT LIKE A DISH TOWEL AND IT WILL RETAIN THE WATER ALL DAY...

I KNOW THAT SOME PEOPLE MIGHT ADVISE ANOTHER METHOD... BUT FOR THOSE US US THAT WANT A NICE LOOKING CAGE THAT YOU CAN SHOW OFF THIS WILL WORK JUST AS GOOD... BECAUSE THE NICEER CAGES CAN BE A LITTLE EXPENSIVE

JUST AN IDEA

HOPE IT WORKS OUT FOR YA

what was suggested will work i've been told, or you can cut a piece of plexiglass (1/8" and put it over teh top, with a hole cut out for your heat light.

i would reccomend this, however.

go to the very bottom. it's a single tub system, I think it's a wondeful idea!
