grrr....i just checked out my pietschmanni cage, and i found an old pair of infertile eggs along with a pair of fertile ones. only problem is i have no idea how old they are, and one is cracked and empty. so ive got one that im praying is still good, but i have no idea when it should be hatching. im kicking my own butt right now, cuz this was in a lil nook that i knew looked suspicious, its just when i checked it i didnt check it deep enough.
so hopefully this one egg will hatch out...i really hope it does. the henkeli eggs, however, are very fresh so i really expect those. anyhow, looks like i wont be needing another male spiny just yet!
just checked out the only intact cork bark egg and it ended up being empty as well, found a few small holes where it seems some tiny collembolans broke in. im surely gonna be keeping a much closer eye on these from now on!
sucks about the corkbarks though.... i had a cricket eat out a crested eggs once... ( but that's a crested, and this is a corkbark!) hopefully you'll find more soon.
Man, that is terrible that your cork-bark eggs got eaten I'm so sorry. I hope you have success with the henkeli though.
Good luck,
Matt
By the way post some pictures of your mossys. I haven't seen them yet.
well this was definitely my fault on missing these....i had all the cues but just didnt dig enough for the eggs, since i really doubted anything would be fertile because ive seen my male pass off on the females so many times. both of my females have had very large calcium sacs for a matter of months now, and back during winter break i noticed that one of my females suddenyl had deflated sacs. i just should have looked harder, but ill be %*#&ed if i let them get by me again!!!!
