Red eye, Eye problem!!

dragoneyez Feb 24, 2005 05:21 PM

My male red eye has a strange eye problem. His right pupil stays wide and the eye ball its self is larger then the other. If I hold him up to the light the outer clear part of his eye is foggy and sort of spotted. He has a hard time opening it the bottom lid stays over it a bit. He is other wise healthy and he was not like this when i bought him. Does any one know what this could be? Please let me know of anything I can do for him.
Thanks
Hilary

Just curious but is this an adult?

In any case a vet visit is a good idea. Problems range from oral abscess to glaucoma. Both are a significant risk to the frog and it's eye. Call around and try to find the most herp experienced vet in your area before making an appointment because travel really stresses these guys out.
Good luck with your frog
