I have a bearded in a desert setup, and I'm looking to maybe make a more tropical environment setup.
Are there any low maintenance ( I emphasize this ) anphibs that are bright colored and fun to watch?
What do you suggest?

This is an easy question to answer. Get a FBT, their easy to care for and have a bright green and red color. I can't talk right now,but I will tell how you take care of it and everything tommorow.

You see.. I've had two of those, I like their color, but I want to try something new. I was thinking maybe a whites tree frog(s), or maybe some other type of frog(s). I like the color of the Red eyed tree frog, and I like the comical look of the whites tree frog.
Are salamanders more high maintenance?
Them two kind would be a little harder to do. But if I could pick one I would get White's tree frog, just because I think they seem easier to care for. But alot of people have red-eyed tree frogs, and they do look very cool. You would probaly need at least a 20 gallon, the tall ones, not the long ones. Try this site http://talkto.thefrog.org/index.php?, or www.talkto.thefrog.org. The first one might not work so try the second one. It's a forum about frogs and toad swher epeople ask questions and get good questions. Just ask a question about one of the frogs and you'll get a whole lot of info. on them.
Go up to the list of pages on this website www.kingsnake.com and click on Care Sheets/FAQs/Features. You will find an article for "Best Reptiles for Beginning Hobbyists" -- it is very interesting and full of important info.
