>>I just bought a dragon off the internet and first he was nice in the rubbermaid container and then when i put him in his glass tanks he started acting mean. I tried using a pen. every time he tries to bite i stick the pen in his way so he wont bite me then when he is distracted i will push my hand underneath him and then hold him is this okay
The pen might do slight damage to the mouth so you could use something soft instead that'd be better.
The best thing to do is taming him/her.
This is the strategy I've been using with Draco, my brothers bearded, who's got quite the attitude problem.
I feed her green peas and beans by hand so she is familiar with me. I rub her head before, during and after she eats, she loves having her head rubbed.
I slowly open the top of her cage so she isn't startled, then I slowly put my hand in there and put it on her back, it makes her feel secure, it also works with uromastyx that are hard to tame.
Then this is what I use with my bearded, Hades, who also is a little moody right now.
When I pick him up, pick him up from the front, don't grab him from the behind because they might think a predator has gotten them. Then talk in a nice calm voice while they are out. Doesn't matter about what, sometimes I talk about changing my room around and asking him if he'd like it or no.
Then afterwards give them their favorite food, whether its more greens, crix or wax worms, although I find wax worms are a good treat for them, they love them and they start associating, being out being good= wax worm.
