A few items for you to think about. Go to www.adcham.com or www.geocities.com/ccicenter to find out which subspecies you have and to get some specific species profile info. If you have these guys in a tank (glass?) this will not work unless they are tiny babies. You must have a screen cage stuffed full of live plants for them for several reasons: 1) glass tanks don't provide enough air exchange or allow a good temp gradient, and are usually too warm from day to night. 2) reflections in glass stress most chams as they see it as a constant rival or threat. 3) they will stress themselves over and over trying to get through the glass. Pawing on the glass is not a good thing. Also, falling asleep on your finger is a bad sign not cute. No healthy cham would do such a thing. They should be wide awake and active during the day and during any handling (which should be brief and seldom until you know your animals' tolerance point). If these guys were wc you will need to get them checked for parasites. Fischeri generally need fairly high humidity and slightly cooler temps, and closed eyes could be a sign of dehydration, extreme stress, illness, or infections. Chams hide any sign of health problems until it is almost too late to treat or they are too weak to hide it any longer, so get connected with an experienced herp vet before you need it. Godd luck with them!

first this, awww how increadly cute lil guy. right the glass enclosures needs to be turn into a screen reptarium or somthing like a repterium with wire mesh. another thing, going from geckos to a fischers chameleon is a hugeeee step. Fischers aint the best beginners pet and can be pretty hard to keep.

Hello and thank you both for your replies*
I relise I must have said the wrong thing,by saying my Chameleons sleep on my finger, ok, well they dont do this, I meant if I say, have them on my finger and put them under my dressing gown and its quite dark, they get sleepy and I think its because they think its night time when I do this!!!.
They are very active, and seem healthy enough, their viv is all wood with back ventilation, and 2glass doors,I have a temp, and humid dial set in there viv, so I know all is well, I feel conserned no one, even pet shops, dont know enough about these animals, but with my experience I am doing what I can!.My Chameleons eat well enough, but the male is a lot bigger than the female, and tries at times to mate her!!!,so I have been feeding her Waxworms to fatten her up!.The pawing of the glass seems to be a common prob with Chams, as we were in pet store again to find Senagal Chams doing the same!!!.
Im confused on what my male is telling me, as he loves being handled and goes all happy green and settled when he is out!,yet I put him in he goes moody brown again!!!, he is a little character*.Well Im glad and grateful of the info*, I will be researching much more on my precious pets*

Not a Cham but damn CUTE*

WARNING! Unless you want serious stress problems with your chams you must separate them! The male will stress the female to the point she will eventally get sick and die.
