het X het = 25% hypopastel with clear nails, 25% normal, 50% het for hypo-pastel. So you would have 25% showing the hypo-pastel trait and the rest would be 66% chance of being het.

Hypo-pastel X Hypo-pastel = 100% Hypo-pastel offspring.
(would not recomend this breeding as the bloodlines could possibly be too close)

Hypo-pastel X colored or normal = 100% het for hypo-pastel.

Hypo-pastel X het for hypo-pastel = 50% hypo-pastel and 50% het for hypo-pastel

If you go to nerds' website they have an indepth explanation of recessive gene breedings and much more genetic info. Also, if you jump over to the genetics forum there is a site in one of my posts that gives a description of the types of genetic defects and how they effect the appearance of the animal with it.

hope tis helps,
Robert

I was under the impression that the only color morph in Beardies that is NOT line bred is the Luec. Line bred mutations you can not get "hets."

I am assuming you are referring to my referance of a hypo-pastel X colored or normal dragon. if you cross a hypo-pastel with clear nails (which is a proven recessive form of hypomelanism) to a normal or a colored dragon all the off spring will be het for hypo-pastel, regardless of color or lack of. Also, the lucy line is NOT a color morph, it is a proven recessive hypomelanistic trait that is from seperate bloodlines than the hypo-pastels. This is why they are whiter where the hypo-pastels have more color. If you breed a hypo-pastel to a marketed lucy you get 100% hypomelanistic offspring with clear nails. We know that the lucy lines are hypomelanistic because color can be bred into this line and a true leucistic animal would not display any color at all plus this trait is genetically compatible with the hypo-pastel trait.

Later,
Robert
