A super hypo tangerine baldy with some carrot tail...

I wanted to know what she was worth so I put her up for action on another website a couple weeks ago with this pic and the bidding got up to $175. I had no intentions of selling her so the reserve was astronomical. It was cool seeing the the bid go that high on a gecko I paid $20 for a couple months ago. LOL! Had I known about this at the time I got her I would have taken them all!

She looks even better now and will be a future breeder!

I hope you noted in the auction that you had no intentions of selling her. If you didn't, then Why tease people? I'm sure the high bidder had "every intention" of wanting/buying her. And obviously they aren't going to bid an astronomical amount on her. I understand your reasoning behind it, but why not just ask around here or in the photogallery?

Actually I did ask around and I even posted in this forum specifically asking her value. I didn't receive any educated answers. Only smart remarks like "depends on whose selling it". On this auction the bidders could see the reserve was never met so no one thought they were going to buy her nor would they be anxious. I see auctions for animals all the time where people put right in the ad that they don't want to sell it but if someone offers X dollars they would sell it. This was the same deal. Sure they may have wanted her but they did not meet my price on the reserve. The reserve was set to what I would sell her for if I had to. I admit it was very high and didn't expect anyone would bid that high but that is up to me to decide. Had someone met the reserve it would have sold and I would have been happy selling a $20 gecko for $300. Now I have a general idea of what the value is for this type of gecko so if I do decide to sell her or her offspring I can post a fair price.

Thanks for the ID's. I'm hoping that the super hypo will lose his head spots are he gets older and as for the little tang,I'll be happy if he lives. His throat is kinda swelled up this morning and I can't get him to eat.I'm going to get some small crix today and some babyfood too.

Nice I always find cool leopard geckos at Petco, They don't seem to know about morphs, cause they sell all of them for the same price. We have gotten Hypo carrot tail baldies for cheap, same price as normals. Keep your eyes open, we check as many Petcos as possible and all the time, cause they get them in and the cool morphs sell fast. Good luck and good find.
