Late night morph ramblings.....

well you may remember that a while back i was wondering about intergrades between corns and emoryii rat snakes. since then i have been wondering if anyone has ever mixed the butter or amber corn traits with an emoryii? if so what did they look like? any pictures?

back when I got my first butter male. The babies mostly looked like poor quality creamsicles. I didn't keep any of the babies and didn't do the cross again, so I don't know if my results were typical or not. But I was definitely disappointed, although I am not sure what I was expecting to begin with.

Butter is a combination of amelanistic and caramel, and creamsicle is amelanistic on a snake from a corn x Great Plains rat background. So crossing butter to creamsicle would produce creamsicles that are heterozygous caramel. And they would look like what you got -- poor quality creamsicles.

You'd have to cross the creamsicle, heterozygous caramel babies together to pull caramel out of the mix again. IMHO, butter creamsicles would be a slightly paler butter color than many butters, but there would probably be a lot of variation, from somewhere in the usual butter range to a little paler than the usual butter range. IMHO, there is nothing to gain from such a project.

Taking a few words out of the last posts makes me think I'm on a cooking show. I wanna go to IHOP and have pancakes.

Butter and caramel and creamsicle is a corn. butter to creamsicle would produce creamsicles that are caramel poor quality creamsicles.
