First attempt to breed A sinensis

Hi
This year I believe that both my Chinese alligators are mature and after 5 months of hibernation, I tried to introduce them to each other. Water temperature is 22*C and they male has been roaring continuesly for a week. It turned out better than last year. This time it took an hour, before they were fighting and all aggression came from the male and not from both like last year. After the initial fight the male was schwimming around with open mouth searching for the female and they were seperated again............They are not the easiest animals I have, but I will continue trying. Someday I hope/wish/pray......

Male preparing to roar.

Female

Male dominating. I still wish for the best, but no

Male searching for female with open mouth and I stopped for now.

Best wishes
