Synchronized Feedings...

CJBianco Feb 25, 2005 06:53 AM

Okay. So this is a bit strange. My two girls have been off feed for a while now. They stopped eating sometime late November. Neither was hungry. Neither was hungry. Then...BAM...both feed one night in mid-December. Fast-forward two months. Still haven't fed again since mid-December. Then...BAM...both feed again last night. Do these "sisters" have the same biological clock? Is this one of those strange and spooky sibling connections? Oooooooh. Spooky.

What's up with the synchronized feeding? Just curious...

Oh. And...WOOHOO!!! The hunger strike is OVER!!!!!!!!!

Good Things,
Chris =)

LOLOL, is they twins?? All kiddin' aside, stranger things have happened. Glad they're back to eatin' regular.

Thanks. =) I'm trying not to get TOO excited. I really shouldn't consider them both on feed again until they've had at least two or three consecutive meals, but...

They're back on feed! They're back on feed! WOOHOO! They're back on feed!!! =)

Good Things,
Chris =)

Try having every ball in your collection shed at the same time. Not just once or even once in a while. Nearly everytime!

I've got snakes that vary in age anywhere from 7 months old to six years old and last year every one of them shed at the same time for the duration of the year.

The first time it happened I chalked it up to coincidence, but by the third time I knew that once I saw one with a pink belly that within 24 hours everyone else would too.

I made a few purchases last year and figured that they would not fall into sync with everyone else in the collection seeing as they were new (and in a separate room). But low and behold everyone one of them fell into rhythm along with the rest of the collection. EVERYTIME.

Husbandry is fine and everyone had perfect sheds everytime. When winter came and everyone slowly began to fast the eventually fell out of this syncronized schedule.

I've got no explanation for it...but it was nice because it made my job that much easier.

BTW I'm not talking about two or three snakes here...I currently have 19 balls so it was really a trip to see this happen over and over again.

I hear you.
I have a couple "problem" sisters now that do the same thing.
