lifespan/breeding

bigandy Feb 25, 2005 10:14 AM

what is the average lifespan for females? mine is pushing 10 now, and has layed eggs in the past though a long time ago. is she too old too breed now? i probably won't attempt it anyway, but was just curious. im sure opinions o lifespan will differ considerably, but would be interested to know of any cases of very old leopard geckos. thanks.

Usually leos in captivity live very long lives if cared for properly. There's been quite a few who made it to or close to 30 years old! I would say the average is about 20-25 years old. You female is, IMHO, a little too old to breed. I'd let her sit back and enjoy being a pet for the remainder of her hopefully long life . Have you had her since she was small?
